In
this post, I’m going to show you how to add new post into the blog on a
Wordpress platform. I’m using here one of my client’s blog that I’m updating
weekly and I’d like to help anyone who is just starting in blogging using
Wordpress.
Here are the easy steps.
1. Go to Posts on the left side column and click Add New
2. Enter the title and the content.
3. To add an image into the body of your content, click on Add Media below the Title and Permalink.
4. A new window will pop up and you can choose from the media library or upload the file from your computer. I usually saved my images on Desktop so they can be easily found when uploading.
I also added a caption (on the right) side because I didn't own the image I used. I got it from Indiegogo website. Then, you choose on the alignment under ATTACHMENT DISPLAY SETTING as well as size. Then hit Insert into post.
5. Scroll down. Tick on any category that your post/article is relevant to. You can add tags on the Tags section.
6. You can also set featured image if you like.
7. Select the image you want to feature for your post.
8. Now, continue to scroll down below. You may wonder what Wordpress SEO by Yoast is. Yoast is a plugin that takes care on your post's visibility on search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. This will help you in indexing your blog. All you need to do is to fill-in the Focus Keyword, SEO Title, and Meta descriptions. It would be good if you include the focus keyword in the Title, SEO Title, and Meta Description for faster indexing of your blog.
9.If you are all set, (on the right side) you can click Save Draft first and preview post. You can also set it to Private or Public Visibility, and schedule it to post later (click Edit next to Publish Immediately) or publish immediately
10. View your post after publishing. You can always get back and update the post if you find any typo or you want a different position of your media or whatever.
